Office x64bit | Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered

Hello,

I have the following issue. My Power BI gets data from *accdb files placed on SharePoint. I can work with this file, no issue with opening or getting data in the Power BI Desktop. I can also see the data in the Power BI Service.

However, when I try to refresh from the Power BI Service (or schedule a refresh, I get the following error):

  • Processing error: Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine 2010 Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987.

I have an Office x64bit and I do have the Access Database Engine 2010 installed on my machine.

Could someone help me here?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Try the following steps:

1. Install a data gateway

2. Add the base  data source to the data gateway

3. Check the box to Allow user's cloud data sources to refresh through this gateway cluster. These cloud data sources do not need to be configured under this gateway cluster.

4. Set the data source to refresh through the gateway

5. Refresh your dataset

The following article describes the same situation, you could have a look:

Dataset Refresh error Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider is not registered on the local machine

Wish it is helpful for you!

Best Regards

Lucien

None of this is helpful. I mentioned that I have Office x64 already & Access Database Engine 2010.
