Hi @Anonymous,

In addition, there're still some limitations to use publish to web feature currently, so make sure you're not hitting any of them. Smiley Happy

Publish to web is supported for the vast majority of data sources and reports in the Power BI service, however, the following are not currently supported or available with Publish to web:

  1. Reports using row level security.

  2. Reports using Analysis Services Tablular hosted on premises.

  3. Reports shared to you directly or through an organizational content pack.

  4. Reports in a group in which you are not an edit member.

  5. "R" Visuals are not currently supported in Publish to web reports.

Publish to web is not available for SSAS data sources, so maybe it is not available to SQL server data sources neither.

If you use a simple excel file as a data source, then publish to web would work.

@Anonymous To answer your question, it is likely that the admin on your tenant has disabled the feature. Which is probably a good idea. Because by using that feature you are exposing that URL to the internet and it can be discoverable by anyone... ie. it's completely un-secure.
