Re: Not able to schedule if my source is Excel file. Data source settings are disabled

Hi @rajendraongole1 ,

If you want to refresh the dataset:

Make sure that your Gateway server can access this file. You will need a Read/Write permission of this path.
Configure your Power BI Desktop to connect via the same path.

Once the above is done, you should then be able to configure the Data Gateway with this new data source.

Then finally go into the dataset properties and set the Gateway to use the Gateway Server and it should then refresh.

If you want to refresh the workbook, you can refer to these documents:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-excel-file-local-drive

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-excel-file-onedrive
