HI.. i installed onpremise gatway on azure VM server (cluster). and I am trying to add azure sql database to this gateway but not able to do that. i am gettig below error. iam using basic authentication to login
'Logging into Sql server failed. Possible reasons for this error include an invalid authentication mode, a missing login in Sql server, a login from an untrusted domain or a problem contacting the domain controller for the authentication request.'
i want to know if it is even supported to add azure sql database to a gateway installed on azure VM. ?
i know we dont need a gateway in this case since it is a azure sql database but we have some users not able to refresh it directly so we thought adding it to gateway n see.
can anyone suggest ?
@v-frfei-msft can u help?
HI, @Anonymous
Refresh data in azure sql database doesn't need gateway,
and you said there some users not able to refresh it directly, whether it is reason IP rights for azure SQL server connection?
Best Regards,
Lin
@v-lili6-msft im aware the gateway is not needed but why am i not able to add it to gateway? is it not supported? and if i add it to gateway does it make any difference? is direct refresh better/can u suggest?
and iam not quite sure why users are not able to connect to the database...i guess its becoz IP rights or firewall issues..
I have other issue as well with sap hana datasource. I added that to a gateway that is installed on azure server but when the dataset is refreshed, im getting this error...
"comunication link failure: 10709 connection failed (RTE:300012) Cannot create SSL engine. The certificate chain was issued by an authority not trusted."
can u help?
Hi @Anonymous
I would suggest making sure that the SSL Certificate is valid for the connection to SAP Hana
@GilbertQ in this case, should we apply ssl certificate for azure on sap hana server or other way. like apply hana certificate in azure server?
