Hello all,
Anyone try connecting to a report/dataset stored in the new workspaces through the Publisher for Excel? The workspace doesn't seem to show up for us, wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
Thanks!
Are there any workds from MS on this subject?
By their plan migration from old to new worksapces will happen in September
Hi Aron
I'm having the same problem and will also log a ticket.
Cheers
Meg
Same trouble here, and we use datasets heavily in excel analysis.
have someone find solution for this problem?
Hi, I tried with this option.
And I am able to get data from new workspaces.
Does anyone know if you will be able to connect to Data in Excel to new Power BI workspaces?
It seems like if all workspaces will eventually be the new version then we'll need this capability. I have one new workspace that I can't connect to from excel and many others in the old workspace version that I can currently but I'm worried about when they have to convert to the new workspace.
Thanks,
Opened a ticket with Microsoft.
Demonstrated the issue and the tech says "the new workspaces don't have that capability. use the old ones."
I say "but all the workspaces with be the 'new ones' eventually"...
"Can I close the ticket?"...
Hi @Aron_Moore,
By my tests, if we connect the data in Power BI Service with Publisher for Excel add-in, we cannot have the option of new app workspace under the Workspace list.
I'm afraid this may caused by the Power BI publisher for Excel Add-in is not updated recently and the new app workspace in Power BI is a new Preview feature.
You'd better have a contact with the support team about Excel to get more help.
Best Regards,
Cherry
