I need to know how to review WHO gave a user access to a Dataset and or a Workspace.
I use the REST API to pull Power BI Activities, but I can't seem to see the specific actions for assigning a user to a Workspace and giving a user direct access to a Dataset via the "manage permissions" for a dataset.
I need to track down the user who is not following our conventions to use "groups" to provide access but is giving "named" users access to a workspace and then direct access to a dataset via the managem permissions for the dataset.
Thanks.. Assuming the data for the activity ( user graned access and who aded the user ) is not in teh Power BI Activity log only the audit log? I use the Rest API to pull the Power BI Activity. but don't see the metadata in the returned data.. but maybe I'm missing it?
Hi @Ray_Brosius , This is info I also wanted. You can find it in the audit logs. ShareDataset and UpdateWorkspaceAccess.
It gives you the name of the user granted access and who added the user, when, the dataset and the workspace.

Hi @Ray_Brosius
From what I know there is no way to track this type of activity.
My best effort guess is to see who are the users in the app workspace with the relevant role and work it out that way?
I know it is not a great answer!
