Missing 'Action' icons and Chinese Characters instead of Pin icon

I am using remote desktop to access a clients server.  When I access the Power BI Service, the posted items in a Workspace do not show any action items.  It appears that they may be there, just not visible as I can hover over where they are and get a tool tip.  The appears in all areas.  When I am in a report and want to pin an item, the Pin icon appears as chinese characters.  I looked it up and it appears to be the word for Pin in standard chinese.

I have English as my language.  I am on IE 11, I have tried the full screen option someone suggested and that does not work.

Any ideas on this?  Never had the issue before.

I had already made this change.  This issue fix was... There is a setting in IE options to allow downloading of fonts.  Evidently most of the icons are acually an external font.  That fixed my issue.    It was under "Security"/ click on the nternet icon, "Custom Level" button,Downloads, Font download, enable it.

I've had this issue plenty.  The issue relates to trust certificates.  The simpliest solution (if using Internet Explorer) is to go:

  1. Visit Power BI
  2. Tools -> Internet Options
  3. Click the Security tab
  4. Click the Green Tick marked "Trusted Sites"
  5. Click the "Sites" button
  6. Power BI's url should be listed automatically for you in "Add this website to the zone".  Click Add
  7. Click all the close and apply buttons.
  8. Refresh the page.
