Migrate SP2010 Reporting services to PowerBI Service

I have some SSRS reports in SP 2010 that I am trying to migrate to work with SP Online.

- The data source is SP online lists

- Reports will not connect to any on prem data

Questions:

1) Can we take the RDL file and migrate to PowerBI? Is there a way?

2) Would PowerBI service allow paginated reports to SPonline list datasource?

3) Are live connections supported to SPOnline list data source?

Thanks

@Anonymous ,

No, if you have purchased premiun license, paginate reports will be available in power bi service. However, there're some limitations on that. For more details please refer to doc below:

@Anonymous ,

Currently power bi desktop doesn't suppot importing .RDL files. However, you can install power bi report server instead, please refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/quickstart-create-paginated-report.

Power bi service doens't support paginated reports currently. However, if you have purchased premium license, you can create and deploy paginated reports in power bi report server, please refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/pin-reporting-services-items-to-power-bi-dashboards?view=sql-server-2017.

Live connection doesn't support sharepoint online list.

This is very helpful!
In Powerbi report server can we create reports with data source to SPOnline lists?
And can those reports be embedded in SPOnline pages?

@Anonymous ,

Yes, power bi report server support sharepoint online list, however it doesn't support schedule refresh and live connection to sharepoint online list.

No, report server report can't be embedded to sharepoint online pages, I would sugges you to use power bi service.

Thankyou again @v-yuta-msft . So basically I cant have RDL/paginated reports embedded on a SharePoint Online page? Paginaed reports are only available in Report server and REport server reports cannt be embedded on SharePoint Online pages. Am I correct? So is there a work around?
