Hey all. first time posting. I looked but did not find the answer i was looking for i may have overlooked it. Apologies for that
Here is my question.
I use POWER BI Desktop to create a SQL Query for a source of data.
The user name and permissions are showing up as originating from that dekstop that I am running Power BI.
When I select "Publish" to push this up to the service...
How is the data getting refreshed?
Is the service using the specified gateway in between the cloud service and our internal network Database server to make the SQl reqest now? (Instead of the Power BI desktop)
I ask becuase if we have devices locked down based upon IP address that can talk to the DB server Would it originate from the gateway. .I am wondering. "How does the service make a request for new data via a refresh? and who does it on behalf of the service?"
Also ... how often is the refresh request made?
