MS azure backup app - can I customize it?

I am new to PowerBI.  I would like to take Azure backup app from MS and do some customizing and save my tweaked version.  Is that possible?

Also, I would like to have 2 instances of the report in my App section.  One instance connected to my sandbox subscription and the other connected to my PROD subscription.  Is that possible?

Thanks,

Ray

Hi @Anonymous,

For the first issue, you could not customer your report in Azure backup app in Power BI service, I suggest you modify your report befor you get your data in Power BI:

Reference:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-configure-reports#view-reports-in-power-bi

For the second issue, you could just only connect one source once a time.

Thanks Daniel.

1A.  This report is not created by me.  It is an MS report.  How am I able to modify the report?

1B.  Also, are the queries themselves available so that I can download them and then tweak the queries?

2. I have been able to "install" the solution 2 times and each time use a different datasource.  So, I have been able to have 2 reports: 1 looking at PROD and 1 looking at TEST.  That is working.

Hi @Anonymous,

Based on my research, I am afraid you could not modify or download the reports in the app.

Thanks Daniel.

So, for my backup reports, should I use the storage account data that Recovery Services creates for this app?

Or should I just write queries against the Log Analytics repository directly?

I am starting to think that I should write my queries against the LA database and pull the backup info from there?

Both places have "backup data".  Which is better?
