Hello,
I have a requirement to build a Power BI report which will show live (or as close to live as possible) data without any need for user interaction. This is because the report will be visible on big screens throughout the company, and so needs to show real time information.
From what I understand with DirectQuery, this is a 15min refresh or at user interaction.
For our customers 15mins is not regular enough, and noone will be 'manning' these reports to interact with them.
We were wondering whether embedding the report on a website with some ability to refresh itself would solve this (unsure whether this is possible or not!), but I came accross this article saying that data refreshes may take upto an hour to reach the embedded report? (Link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-publish-to-web ) Or am I misunderstanding the report?
Failing that I think my only alternatives are to look to using the Real Time Streaming sources discussed here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-real-time-streaming
If anyone has any advice or experience on this it would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
Vicky
