Lineage view of elements in different workspaces doesn't work from dataflow to dataset

Hi there,

I'm having a problem to visualize the lineage of dataflows in my Power BI Service. When I visualize lineage from dataflow it is showed as having no dependency, despite the fact that has many dataset using this dataflow.

If I visualize the lineage of dataset that uses this dataflow, it shows the dataset and the dataflow dependency, as you can see bellow.

Would some one tell me if this is a bug or if it's supposed to work like that? Is there any suggestion to evaluate Power BI Service in order to show lineage in all directions (up and down)?

P.S: Dataset and dataflow are in different workspaces.

Hi  @trt18-sistemas  ,

It‘s by design.

If a report in the workspace is built on a dataset or a dataflow that is located in another workspace, you see the source workspace name on the card of that dataset or dataflow. Select the name of the source workspace to go to that workspace.

Also, Correct display of dataset-dataflow lineage is guaranteed only if the Get Data UI is used to set up the connection to the dataflow, and the Dataflows connector is used. Correct display of dataset-dataflow lineage is not guaranteed if a manually created Mashup query is used to connect to the dataflow.

Thanks for you reply @v-xiaoyan-msft . I've posted a suggestion at Ideas Forum: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Custom-Visuals-Ideas/Lineage-view-for-dataflow-dataset-in-different...

Hope for having votes and see it implemented soo.
