Hi, we would like to gather usage statistics on what database tables/views are being used in which Power BI reports/datasets. The lineage diagram only goes down to dataset level. Usage statistics only captures report views. Using the API Get Datasources In Group, we can get the connection string but not the table name. Are there any other options? Thanks in advance!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Try Push Datasets - Datasets GetTables
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/pushdatasets/datasets_gettables
Or Push Datasets - Datasets GetTablesInGroup
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/pushdatasets/datasets_gettablesingroup
Best Regards,
Jay
Thanks Jay. Unfortunately, these APIs are for push datasets only (like realtime streaming), not regular datasets.
HI @Anonymous ,
I think yo uare looking for a third party tool for this - and I am not sure that any are Service related....they may be, I am just not sure....so you may have to do this on your Desktop. Here is probably the one you are looking for:

Thanks for linking the tool - it needs to import pbix files one by one. We're hoping to collect statistics on datasets across multiple workspaces in our organization 😅.
