Is there a place in Power BI Service to see whether a connection is a Direct Query or Import? I want to be quickly able to determine the connection type.
I found 2 reports that I know first hand the connections type. I looked at the Lineage of the 2 Reports, one being a Direct Query and the other an Import using a SQL Query, and I don't see anything that points out the difference. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey @mcornfield ,
the only place I know that might contain the information you are looking for is the dataset API: Datasets - Get Dataset - REST API (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Docs
The result might contain a property called targetStoragemode
But to honest, i have no idea what to expect
a dataset in import mode returns: Abf
a dataset in directquery mode returns: PremiumFiles
Hopefully, this provides some new ideas.
Regards,
Tom
