Hi!
I am experiencing the strange phenomenon that for some dashboards, where i am the owner of the dashboard, premium workspace etc. i cannot seet the data below the dataset in the lineage view, in Power BI Service.
However, if i click on the dataset, i get on the right side of the screen a frame with the list of all tables. One is in DirectQuery, the others are in import.
Does somebody has any clue about how to see the lineage of the dataset (the excel files, the SQL Server etc)?
Cheers. G.
Hi @Ghuiles ,
I didn't get the point, can you show some screenshots and more information?
Best Regards,
Jay
Hi Jay
So, below are 3 screenshots.
The first one is with an older dashboard, where i can see the lineage Report > Dataset > data source (in particular the SQL Server). For some reason i cannot see the same tree decomposition in the third screenshot.
If i click on the SQL Server, i can then see the following helpful details:
The third screenshot is what I currently can see with my current dashboard. There i can see only Report > Dataset. My problem here is that i cannot see the different data source (the excel files in import, and the SQL server in Direct Query).
Any idea how to solve this?
One of the reason why i look for this information is that in my composite model i got the feeling that the DirectQuery table is getting refreshed only if I refresh the whole dashboard (so refreshing the imported tables as well). Here any idea as well?
Any help is welcome.
Cheers. G.
