Last refresh failed: We cannot convert the value "[Binary]" to type Binary..

Last refresh failed: Sun Jan 06 2019 06:51:44 GMT 1100 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time)

There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.

Data source error: We cannot convert the value "[Binary]" to type Binary..

The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface.

Table: artifact. Cluster URI: WABI-AUSTRALIA-SOUTHEAST-redirect.analysis.windows.net

Activity ID: comeback

The reports dataset is made from SharePoint folders holding Excel files (all with identically named sheets) differently named files, obviously. They are merged, this works fine. The dataset is then merged with data from the Azure Billing API, this works fine and if I refresh the data set within Power BI desktop, no issues.

In fact, I am spending a couple hours of my day each month just refreshing the report locally so that I can upload it over and over again to the APP which is shared throughout our entire organisation.

Read through all the posts, but no workaround seems viable. Anyone have some advise or whether this bug is being resolved?

The issue seems to be the privacy settings in Power BI Service. Try the solution here

Hi @Anonymous,

Please try the suggestions mentioned in below links.

Underlying error message: We cannot convert the value "[Binary]" to type Binary

Expression.Error: Cannot convert the value "[Function]" to type Function
