Hi
The Power BI Weekly Service Update of 24 November 2015 includes a way to find out where your PowerBI data is stored. For example, West US (California). This tells you in which datacenter the data is stored.
Thank you for this feature, it's great to see. I wanted to ask where I could suggest that Microsoft use the same datacenter location for Power BI data as it does for Office 365. For example, in December 2014 Microsoft annouced that it would be hosting Office 365 data from Australian datacenters. I understand this was delivered during 2015, with all existing and new customers in Australia having their data stored here. When I check the location of data in my PowerBI test set-up it tells me the data is located in South East Asia (Singapore). I'd like to suggest to Microsoft that the data should be stored in Australia, like our Office 365 data.
Is this forum the appropriate place or is there another channel I should look to?
Thanks
Charles
Hi Charles
I am looking for the answer to this question also. Did you get the answer from anyone at Microsoft?
Kham.
I agree. I would like to use the nearest data center and in my case I don't beleive this is happening.
