Issues in sharing dashboard ouside the organization

Hello,

I have a strange situation with sharing of dashboards outside the organization..

I have my reports/dashboard under user1@MyCompany.com and I share it with multiple users under Customer.com domain. One of the users cust1@Customer.com domain cant access the dashboard by clicking on the URL in the email he receives. All other users in Customer.com domain are able to access dashboard that is shared.

user1@MyCompany.coom user is also under the extended trial period of power bi pro.

The cust1@Customer.com is under the 60 day trial for power bi pro

We have confirmed that cust1@Cutomer.com is able to login to powerbi.com using the cust1@Customer.com credentials.

cust1.Customer.com is able to access other dashboards that are shared with him

This is the error message that is shown..

Can anyone help in suggesting what could be the problem here. Can some power bi support team provide us the error logs based on the Activity id etc from the error message?

Hi,

Can you please stop sharing your dashboard, then share it again ? Might be a "token" issue from when it was created.

Let me know if how it goes.

I hope this helps,

Merci

hello @LucLabelle

We have already removed the access and shared again (multiple times) - but get the same error.

So we created a new dashboard and tried sharing the newly created dashboard. the end user is getting the same "access denied" error.

is this "token" created for a user? or for each dashboard?

Hi @rosirosss,

It's weird, please connect the Administrator of Customer.com domain, and let him check if there is any specific setting for cust1@Customer.com.

Best Regards,
Angelia

Hello @v-huizhn-msft.. Thank you for your response...

This is a end customer facing an issue and it wont be easy for us to meet with their O365 admin check setting etc. Also what exactly should we be checking for?

is it possible for us to get the detailed error message based on the activity id, request id etc? In the past, when i used to support a Microsoft product team, I would get into the Azure portal (using the right id) and get details of the error logs. Isnt that possible in the case of Power BI?

I have the error message below - it instructs me to contact "Support" - do you know which support team in Microsoft can help with this issue? Any help is greatly apprecited 🙂

@v-huizhn-msft we have confirmed that the end user is not able to access any dashaboard from a particular domain.

user1@customer.com can access dashaboard from user1@xyz.com

but he cannot access any dahsboard from user1@abc.com or user2@abc.com.

does this info help in anyway in what could be the issue?

Hi,

Can you ask user1@customer.com to try to connect from a different browser and/or computer ? I just to take out "cashing" issues out of the equation.

Thanks,

I hope this helps
