We are having the same issue, and it is a BIG deal for us.  Users have lost filter functionality that they use regularly.

We have reports published to the Power BI Service - some long ago, some more recent - with some filters defaulting to Basic, some defaulting to Advanced.  In all the published reports, users are no longer able to toggle between Basic and Advanced.  Developers are able to switch modes when looking at the reports in the Power BI Desktop.

Please let us know how to get back this functionality!

Hi @ad8833 ,

Which situation do you want to add the filter for your report? Reading view or Edit view? Only in Edit view, you could change the filter types:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-reports-filters-and-highlighting#filters-in-readi...

And make sure the type of your data in the column that you want to filter is Text, the text column could use the Basic/Advanced filter.

I am talking about Basic filtering and Advanced filtering options.Earlier , users were able to use them as part of filtering but suddenly it has been disabled.

Hi @ad8833 , @tlaresch,  @Anonymous
It is a known issue and I have reported internally, I will update the issue as soon as possible once I got any information.

Unfortunatley , from last couple of days there are multiple issues that we are facing with Power BI:

1) Unable to use "Test as Role" or "login as" functionality.

2)Filtering type issue(basic/advanced) in PBI service.

3)Add/Remove roles from Security bucket(figured out a workaround but still).

These issues are really hindering our work and kind of getting escalated. Please get them fixed so that we can function smoothly.
