Is it possible to leverage org chart for Row-Level Security?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to take the org chart within O365/AD and apply RLS filters based on that info? I'm trying to build a report such that each individual can see their own data, plus the data of everyone directly below them in the org chart.

I found a post that discussed leveraging AD, but it didn't really solve my issue, since everyone is in the same AD group.

Thanks!

Hi @jl20,

Currently, there is no such a built-in chart model supporting to generate an organizational chart in Power BI.  Please have a look at this blog, someone has attempted to create a similar force-direct node-link graph which represents relationships of persons. You could customize the source code to fit your own organizational relationship.

Appling Row Level Security for organizational chart is not achievable right now.

Here is a similar idea, you could click to vote it up or create your own feature request at idea page.

Best regards,
Yuliana Gu
