Internal Charging for Power BI Premium Capacity

Hi all,

Any suggestions on the calculation of internal charging for Power BI Premium if plan to migrate all projects to Power BI Premium Capacity. Previously only use Power BI Pro for all projects, so the cost is very straightforward.

Things to be concerned about:

  1. Each project might have a different workload and user amount
  2. Not fair to light-weighted projects if they share the same cost as the heavy-weighted projects.

Your suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi @PowerBIUserz123

One thing you need to know is that even if you have Premium capacity, the users in your organization who want to edit the content still need Pro license. You can refer Power BI Premium FAQ, many questions can be answered through this link.

Premium is a license based on the capacity. Per Premium capacity will have 100 TB storage and there is no per-user storage limit. It was purchased with different SKU and different v-cores. For deploying premium, you can refer Deploying and Managing Power BI Premium Capacities.

If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to let me known.

Best Regards
