Incremental Refresh : RangeStart and RangeEnd Values

Hi,

I've set up my premium workspace to use incremental refresh.

I wanted to understand how RangeStart and RangeEnd works.

My question is "Would the RangeStart be updated with the max(last_updated) from previously loaded data?"

We have developed a Datawarehouse DB from the actual application source DB and we do an incremental load to the data warehouse using SQL Jobs.

If we have set up the incremental load for Power BI to load last 10 days record and if we do not load the data source(Datawarehouse ) for let's say 2 months, would the data be loading the last 10 days record from the last time the data was loaded or would it take the currentDate()-10 days to load the data?

Thanks & Regards,

Sunil

HI @Anonymous ,

I't like to suggest check at following document about advanced option for incremental refresh, they may suitable for your scenario.

Hi Xiaoxin Sheng,

Thanks a lot!! for your reply.

If we use Detect data changes, and the Data Warehouse data had records that were updated before max(last_updated_date) would these changes be pulled if we tell to load last 10 days record?.

Regards,

Sunil

Hi @Anonymous ,

It means power bi will trace records and update if the changes, If previous period not updated, power bi only update current date range records.
