Implementation of Power BI as part of BImodal corporate solution

Hi All, Basically we are planning to have a Bi modal - mode 2 approach in our organisation for Power BI Solutions. When i say Bi-modal mode 2 it is mixture of Corporate BI and IT-Managed Self-Service BI wherein we would like to give users some ability to create the reports make changes in power bi visualization along with IT team having control over the most of the Business driven reports wherein user cant make any changes. It would be great if you all help me with your suggestions and recommendations to implement this model.. Would like to understand how the ownership needs to be maintained, how the power bi version maintenance should happen , how the development should happen etc Kindly request you all to provide your guidance

Hi @Anonymous,

From your description, you could refer to content pack function that other users could not make any changes:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-organizational-content-pack-create-and-publish

But they could make a copy of the content pack to re-create the report:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-organizational-content-pack-copy-refresh-access

Hope it could help you.

Hi @v-danhe-msft - Considering the recent updates in Power i.e. Apps and preview workspace, i have read that content packs are going to be deprecated. So are content packs the right approach.

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please tell me if your problem has been solved? If it is, could you please mark the helpful replies as Answered to close this topic?
