I keep running to this dataflow refresh error "Error: PipelineException: SharePoint: Request failed"

I have been trying to wrap my head around on how to get past this error:

Error: PipelineException: SharePoint: Request failed: https://xxx.sharepoint.com/sites/.../file_xlsx/_api/contextinfo . RootActivityId = ....Param1 = PipelineException: SharePoint: Request failed: https://xxx.sharepoint.com/sites/.../file_xlsx/_api/contextinfo Request ID: ....

All of our data sources (Excel files) are hosted on Sharepoint. There are only 6 tables in this dataflow, the files being less than 1gb in total size. I am also pulling another 6 smaller data/definition lookup tables (also Excel files hosted on Sharepoint) from a dataflow that has no gateway, while the one that is generating the error has one - and I can't seem to remove the gateway either.

I've tried setting up incremental refresh but that isn't helping because I can't get the dataflow to complete the refresh after setting it up. Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Hi @olimilo ,

Based on your description, you can try to  clear permissions in data source settings and re-import SharePoint files.

I sometimes refer to the following article on sharepoint restrictions when there are errors in this area.

Avoid getting throttled or blocked in SharePoint Online | Microsoft Docs

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information screenshooots and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry
