How to upload large dataset to the workspace?

Hi,

can you tell me how I can upload a pbix file to the workspace that is around 20 GB? I have a dataflow and I pull the data to the desktop PBI but somehow I need to upload the dataset to the workspace. Do you have any idea how I could to that? I cant even upload a file with 8 GB, it times me out.

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous

What I would do is to use either incremental refresh. You can then only load a subset of the data. (Meaning a small PBIX file)

Then when the first refresh occurs it will then refresh the entire dataset and the size will grow.

Another option is to use a parameter to limit the amount of data returned (If you are using a backend database). Then once the PBIX is uploaded with a subset of the data, you can modify the parameter to load all the data.
