Can anyone advise how i can share dashboards to external people. I do not want outside users to drill down into the reports or see any data behind the visuals that are in the dashboard?
Whats the best way to do this as there must be some smart functionality that allows me to do this?
Hi @sebbyp
What you could do is to create a seperate dashboard for your external users.
Then pin the tiles to that dashboard.
Once the tiles are pinned, go into the "Edit Details" and where it says "Custom Link" enable that
And then make sure External Link is selected and as with my example below I set it to my Website, so it would not link through.
thank you @GilbertQ
This doesn't solve the problem that users can still export the underlying data to excel. I tried the custom link which I can confirm that it stops the user going to the report but a user can still click on the ellipse of the chart and select export to excel.
My data is very sensitive and i do not want to share this with an external user.
Hi @sebbyp
If that is the case then I would create a dataset in which it only has enough data to render the tile required.
@GilbertQwhat exactly does that mean. Surely the same issue of clicking on a chart and selecting export data to excel is still present?
Hi @sebbyp
I guess that is true, as you have to have the data to support the dashboard item.
If that is the case that they cannot see the basic underlying data, then I do not think it can be done.
