Hello Friends,
In my Power BI desktop I have connected to SSAS Multi Dimensional cube as a data source.
in my Date table has by default showing from 1889/90 so basic filter is showing by default first 1000 years only. in my dashboards I would like to filter last 5 Financial filters only. basically i know 2015/16 is a string. which is first requirement I want !
My second require ment is :
rather having to use the filter to pick those years individually. So what I’m saying is to dynamically work out in the model the last 5 FY from today.
Thanks in advance.
Well I assignment you can just apply a filter in the query that imports the data. I have never tried it with SSAS, but I assume there is the same date filter options in the query. If hat doesn't work, why don't you create your own calendar in Excel. It doesn't have to come from SSAS as the source, even if your other data does.
Hi Mallington,
Many Thanks for your reply.
I am directly connecting to the SSAS Cube so then My Date dimension is linked to all my measures ) as you said If I create my own calendar in excel how can I connect to my measures. sorry I didn't get you.
@cherukuri19, if you want to use your own date dimension from e.g. Excel, you'd have to import the data to Power BI's data model and create relationships there rather than using a live connection to SSAS.
Otherwise, you could request a Last5FiscalYears flag in the cube that would allow you to set a report-level filter to filter out rows that don't have that flag.
