Hi guys is there a way i can disable refresh in services, i know there is an option in the desktop, but serivces i couldnt find any. I have large datasets, hence refreshing all can cause time out issues. Been stuck with this for a while now.
Hi @ajin,
I think you mean that you want to disable the refresh of one of table in your dataset. Actually, it is not possbile to meet your requirement currently. However, there is an idea about that, you can vote it up.

Ya i was thinking on the same lines since it wasnt supporting the feature currently.
Yes, generally when you go to the Dataset | Schedule Refresh there is a slider to enable automatic refresh or not. Or are you looking to disable it altogether so that users can hit "refresh" ?
since my datasets are large i have broken it down into different sets by year, ( the previous years shouldnt be refreshed) but the current year table should be ?
Are they different datasets or different tables within a single dataset? In the latter case, typically you would disable the refresh on the table in the PBIX file and then when you publish to the Service refresh won't occur for that table/query.
My case is the latter. I had tried doing what you had suggested here but it didnt work. I was able to disable refresh in the desktop but it doesnt support the same on services.
