I have a power BI report that is connected to a dataset that is not on auto-refresh. However, each instance that I open up a report the table looks like it is refreshing and it has to spin and load again.
How can I make this not happen? It is taking 5 minutes+ every time I open the report and I do not have any new data to add to it when it does this. Can I make a table in Power BI service just stagnant?
Thanks.

I figured out what was going on. My sql source was using direct query rather than 'import' Once I switched that, upon opening a report on service it does not reload

Hmmm, caching should be your friend here but your long wait is likely due to measure calculations that are occurring. These happen whenever you display a report page or make changes to a measure. Have you looked at the performance metrics for your measures?
