Hi,
I would like to connect to Dynamics NAV 2016 on Azure VM from Power BI Service.
And, the goal is to use Dynamics NAV's Content Pack.
However, in order to connect to Dynamics Nav 2016, I need to open the FireWall. I am concerned about security only by opening the destination port.
I don't want to update the source IP address restrictions with time and effort.
It becomes the main subject.
Do you know how to make it easy to securely connect from Power BI Service to Dynamics NAV 2016 on AzureVM?
Because both are Microsoft products.
thanks for help.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Dynamics NAV's Content Pack is only for online Dynamics NAV data source.
In this scenario, if your Dynamisc NAV is hosted on Azure VM, it's still an "on-premise" source. To refresh the data on Azure VM, you have to keep whitelist the IP list of Azure Data Center since it changes weekly. There's no easier way currently.

Thank you for your answer.
Thanks to you I was able to give up.
I think that I will do one of the following.
· Update the source IP address on a weekly basis
· Give up content pack and do ODdata linkage via On-Premise Data Gateway.
