How to clear or empty out a Power BI dataset that has been working with Incremental Refresh

Hello,

I have a report that is built on a dataset that uses incremental refresh with real time data updates.  It works nicely except that now I just want to clear it out and reload it from scratch.

If I go to the service and refresh the dataset or refresh the report or do a browser refresh, or various combinations, the old data does not seem to clear out.

How do I clear out the dataset that uses incremental refresh?

Thanks,

Hi @PowerBI-ELM

If you are using Power BI Premium per User, or Premium, you can connect to the XMLA End Point, then right click on the database and select Process Clear.

If you have Power BI Pro, then you would have to remove all the data from your PBIX and then re-upload the PBIX.

Sorry, my bad.  I figured it out.  When finished the process clear the data did dissappear but when I reloaded the data afterwards it was old and dated outside the archive window.  Once I fixed that it worked out nicely

Thanks.

THanks for letting us know.

This worked really wll.  I have PPU and when I did the process clear it did clear the cached data from the report and the graph went blank.  But now it no longer loads data from the source SQL server.  Not sure how to restart it so it will start loading or refreshing data again.
