How to apply Row Level Security on Dashboard

Hi,

I have applied the RLS on Sales report using "test role" in Power BI service by "userid" and now I want to apply RLS on Dashboard, is it possible to apply RLS on a dashboard.

Hi  @vishal_purohit ,

 

Only pinning a "live" report tile will work,pinning a visual to dashboard is just like a snapshot of preserving the filters at the time of pinning,that's why RLS wont work.

Hi Vishal. RLS is applied to datasets. The data model will understand the rules involved. Then every report or dashboard build with that dataset will be using RLS.

You can try pinning a visualization with the list of userid in the dashboard to check if you see one or all of them with some user in the list of the applied role.
