How do you keep track of report usage

Hello all

I know, there are usage metrics, but as far as i know these are not available for apps. (But will be: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Usage-metrics-invisible/m-p/636267#M63588)

So how do you guys keep track of your report usages?

Many thanks

@Anonymous ,

Currently, both old/new app workspace support usage metrics. However, in some senarios we can't use this feature. Please refer to the condiration and limitation of usage metrics.

Hi @v-yuta-msft

Okay great, thanks for the answer.

In the workspaces i have access to the usage metrics, but not in the app. Is this caused because im not an Power BI Service Admin? In the Workspace itself im an Admin.

I asked our Office 365 Admins to add me as an Power BI Service Admin but they said it needs a special license, can you confirm that? Everybody in our company that uses Power BI has a Pro license, i dont think i would need Premium right?

Thanks

@Anonymous ,

Yes, in an app you can't see the usage metrics, only in workspace you can. To view the report usage metrics, you need to be an admin. Report usage metrics don't need a premium license.

Hi @v-yuta-msft

Thanks for the answer.

In the workspaces i am an admin, but all of our users use the reports in the app. Is there a reason why usage metrics are not enabled in app mode?
