We have a golden dataset in production in a workspace. We have built multiple reports and pages and published them in various workspaces for different small group teams to work with. We want to give a broader audience view only access to the reports. Is there a way to do this without giving them build access to the dataset and without giving them higher than a reader role in their respective workspaces?

We were able to test and validate that you can grant Viewer permissions to dataset only in a workspace, and then also grant viewer permissions only, in a different workspace, that has reporting sourced from the dataset, and that user was able to see report and not able to change anything.

Give Viewer access to all your user in your Golden Dataset workspace, it will only allow read access not the build, you can add build access for specific user/group on top of Viewer as well.
