I have the exact same problem as the last error message.

I've tried with both private repos and public.

Seems to me there is an error in the app. How can anyone place a bug report for the Github PowerBI app?

I don't think there is a place for bugs. You can write a review when you look for the App and before installing it. However this app seems to be deprecated in my opinion. Like I said before. Just use the Github connector or the Web one with the Github API. You can do many things with that. Build your model to get stronger analytics. You will have more flexibility.

I hope that make sense

The repo definetely does exist. I can access it in a browser. My account is the admin/owner of the repo.

I have read somewhere that this app does not work with GitHub Enterprise. We use GitHub Teams plan/licensing.

This email was sent when the app tried to auto refresh:

An error occurred while processing the data in the dataset.
Refresh failed:

GitHub has failed to refresh.
Failure details: We cannot convert a value of type Record to type Text.

It can be yes. I don't know the app but if they have configured a method from the API that needs special permission, licence, etc, you won't be able to get it. You can always connect to github yourself with the PowerBi Desktop connector or the Github Rest API.
The last error is actually saying that there is a problem on the ETL side of the App. The Power Query script is having issues. It looks like you can't use that app with that repo. It probably is an app for regular free public repos.

I hope that make sense

Hi im_brad, the message suggest two things. One the repository doesn't exists, please be sure you can find it online on a web browser. Two your logged in user doesn't have permission to get the API values for that repo, be sure you have admin permissions on the repo.

I hope that helps,
