Flashing Power BI Logo in Sharepoint Online

I'm having problems viewing reports through the Embed in Sharepoint Online functionality. This did work a month or so ago with no problem but since then all I receive (as Report Developer and Power BI Admin) is a flashing Power BI logo. I have not changed anything internally and neither has the Sharepoint team (or so I' m led to believe).

This is the same for a number of users... but a small number are still able to view the embedded report. I have checked everyone's Permissions (Power BI Pro, Workspace access etc), including duplicating those that still work... but this doesn't change anything.

I have also tried this with every possible Browser (IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari) and removed cookies etc but still no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous ,

For Embed in SharePoint Online reports to work, the following is required:

A Power BI Pro license or a Power BI Premium capacity (EM or P SKU) with a Power BI license.

The Power BI web part for SharePoint Online requires Modern Pages. (It requires modern pages instead of classical page .)

Embedding a report in SharePoint Online doesn't automatically give users permission to view the report - you need to set view permissions in Power BI. see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-embed-report-spo#grant-access-to-reports .

Are you using the same version of browser? Please note that you may encounter issues if using Internet Explorer 10. You can look at the browsers support for Power BI and for Office 365.

If you share a dashboard to a security group, users will need to sign into Power BI at least once for the user to have access to the report.

There are some other limitations you may need to considerate: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-embed-report-spo/#known-issues-and... .

Best Regards,

Amy
