Having some trouble with a filled Map. I am filling in Zip Codes for a specific state. I have visual level filter for my state and a report level filter on the state also. It looks fine except my map shows the entire world when I look at that report. Its a pain to zoom in and center around my state everytime I look at my report. Is there a way to configure my map so it is centered around my state when me or my end users look at the map? I do not want to see any georgaphy except my state.
Any help appreciated.
When I put a Filled Map visualization on the canvas and then add State to Location, it automatically zooms to the State. I then add Zip Code to Location below State, then when I drill down, it zooms into the specific zip codes.
When I add State and then Zip, the whole State is filled. I don't see differences between the zip code areas.
I wish you could zoom in and scroll to get the map centered around your data and then lock it in place.
I might not use a filled map for this reason.
Right, with state and zip, the whole state is filled in, but if you hit the "drill down" arrows in the upper left, it should automatically zoom and center on your zip codes and you will only see those zip codes that you have data for filled in. Now, once I drilled down and saved my file, I reopened the file and it automatically zoomed in and centered to my zip codes after a short pause. It did not "lock" the view within the map however as I had scrolled around on the map before saving and when I went back in, it stayed at the original position that it had upon first drilling down.
I could not get filled map to work with just zip codes for some reason, I guess Bing maps needed additional context to geocode it properly.
