Hi Everyone
I have a Power BI Report which has in it a data table with hyperlinks to files located within a network file share e.g. file://server/foldername/filename.pdf . The link works when I click on it using Internet Explorer as the browser. However if I use Microsoft Edge or Chrome to view the same Power BI report the same link does not work. Nothing happens when I click on it. The only work around is to use copy link and paste the link into the browser window which then opens up the PDF as expected.
Can anybody explain this behaviour and is there a way of resolving it so that the link works in these browsers.
regards
Paul

Hi @Anonymous ,
Please check the following limitation when use file hyperlink in report as refer in this official blog:
If you want to use file URLs, there are some limitations. They will not open in the Power BI Desktop, only in web browsers. For most browsers, you will need to right click on the link, copy the link address, and paste the URL in a new tab.
