I'd like to have your opinions on whats the best way to display todays data in the Dashboard.
I know it can be done using the Q&A in the web version, but personally I don't have good experience with this. Especially not if the graph requires a lot of features, like: sorting, legenda, etc...
I haven't tried but I assume it is also possible to make calculated fields/columns in the desktop that only hold today's data. So these graphs can be pinned in the PowerBI web version to see the latest data.
Are there any other options, and what option do you suggest?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there,
There's a chance I may have misunderstood, but from what I can gather, you're looking at a way of showing only the data for a specific day?
I don't know much of your environment or data but one way you might achieve this is by 'tagging' the data with a date. For instance, if you're taking a daily snapshot from your data source, tag a date onto that data (perhaps in a related data table) and then expose this as a filter. Could this be a way forward?
Indeed, I'm looking at a way to show the data of today in the Dashboard.
Right now I'm thinking of making calculated fields where I filter on todays date and pin the graphs to the dashboard, like this:
Calculate([Power]; Timestamps>=Today()).
But I assumed this could be done much smarter. I know it's possible to tag a specific day in the graph filter, but these filters are static. Meaning that I would have to change the filter every day, or am I wrong?
