Hi there,
I have a table with Conditional Formatting, basically it highlights the row(s) for records created in the last 10 days. But when I export to excel (either from the Power BI service or via the SharePoint page I embedded the report into) it loses the conditional formatting. I have to send this particular report outside the organisation, but not want to embed/publish to the web, so the only option I have is to export to Excel and send that across but I'm having to manually highlight the records again in Excel.
Has anyone found a workaround for this - or am I doing it entirely wrong and there is a way?
Many thanks,
Andy
@Anonymous A few options come to mind to address your requirement:
- Invite your partners/clients to a part of your SharePoint site and embed PBI there
- Export to PPT/PDF from the service
- Use Analyze in Excel to get the raw data in Excel, format your pivot with Excel conditional formatting, refresh and distribute. (This uses ODC behind the scenes.)
Thanks @otravers
I'll check whether we are allowed to invite the partner to part of our SharePoint site. That might be the best option considering I've done all of the work in PowerBI to get the conditional formatting working already.
Export to pdf unfortunately doesn't work - already tried that. It appears it just exports like a screenshot and the info has scrollbars so not all data shows on the pdf.
Appreciate the ideas/options available to me.
Thanks!
Hi @Anonymous ,
AFAIK, export feature will export underline records, it not support to export styles or other customize enabled on that visual.

Hi @v-shex-msft
Thanks for your reply. Just to be 100% sure, do you mean underlying records, rather than underline records?
That's a shame that the export functionality does not include any conditional formatting.
Thanks,
Andy
HI @Anonymous ,
Yes, I mean underlying data of visuals.
