Excel File source located on Sharepoint: Access issue

Dear All,

I need your support.

I have created my Data Model with POWER BI Desktop on my local drive and currently porting it in a sharepoint.

>> I trying to update the 'Data Source Settings' from my local FactTables Excel files to the Sharepoint FactTables Excel Files

a) I click on change source

b) Copy the link of the Excel FactTable located on Sharepoint

As I complete this update this replaces the local patch (on my C: drive to the Sharepoint location)

So far so good, I finish the job, then I want to apply the changes and run the refresh and I get the following error:

Capture_PBI3.PNG

I then try the Windows one with the 'Use my current credentials' As I'm already signed in on my PBI Desktop.

>> But same error message:

As I use the Company Global Office 365 account I then and last try the 'Organizational account' option:

>> my first surprise is to see 'Your aren't signed in' were I am on the Descktop app. But OK, I click on 'sign in'

A default.aspx window pops up asking me to select the account, my account is already pre-displayed, I select it but nothing happens,

the window does not close and when I return the the desktop window I get again an error message:

I'm stuck!!

I'm owner of the sharepoint were the excel files are located, the sharepoint is located on the same company Office 365 environment. What is preventing me to do this very basic operation?

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you have tried clear the permission and try to get data again with your company Global Office 365 account?

Have you tried selecting a higher level in the "Select Which Level to apply these settings to"?
