Error while publishing the report: ”Publishing is complete. However, we ouldn’t refresh your dataset

Hi,

I am trying to publish an updated report in power bi service and want to replace old dataset of the report. But I am getting the below error (screenshot). The datasources of the report are SSAS and SQL server. However, I am able to publish other PBI reports developed underlying the same datasource without any issue. Any suggestion on this error?

Hi @v-xicai ,

Thank you for reply and suggesting the below steps to find the quick solution of the issue. However, I removed the dataset and overlying report from the workspace and then re-published it again. Somehow this method resolved the issue.

Best Regards,

Hi @Anonymous ,

1.Did you install the Gateway and configure it , then configure the schedule refresh correctly? See detail :On-premises data gateway ,Manage your data source - SQL Server , Manage your data source - Analysis Services , Configure scheduled refresh.

2.The personal data gateway does not support datasets in DirectQuery/ Connect live mode, make sure you have an enterprise data gateway to support these types of datasets.

3.If you have installed the enterprise data gateway ,then try to upgrade to latest version.

4.Did you change the password or Server name of the credential of SQL Server or SSAS?

5.Can you manually refresh the dataset?

You can refer to the troubleshooting links:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-troubleshooting-refresh-scenarios ,

Best Regards,

Amy
