Error in Manage Gateway settings

Hi,

 

I am trying to set up Manage Gateway settings and encounter an error that there is no gateway installed.

 

While trying to download and then install I get an error that there is already an existing gateway and I need to uninstall that first.

 

Please let me know how I may check this and uninstall any previous version.

Hi @Mystery ,

 

You could check if you have installed the gateway under Control panel>>Programes and features.

 

If you have installed before, you could uninstall it and reinstall the gateway again.

@Mystery Did you set up the personal gateway? In order to "Manage Gateways" you need to install the Enterprise Gateway (not the personal one). If you did install the personal, you need to un-install that first. Alternatively, the machine you installed the gateway on has to be art of the same tenant as your power bi service.

Hi Seth,

 

I am using trial version of Power BI and set up Personal Gateway.I do not have the priveledge to setup Enterprise gateway right now.

 

Please let me know how I may uninstall personal gateway ,in order to proceed.

@Mystery There is no license tied to a gateway install... you can test out anything you want, you just can't share with others without a license. The Gateway is a service installed on your local machine, open Apps & Features (Programs) depending on your windows version, and find the "On-Premises data gateway (personal mode) - click it and "uninstall"
