Hi,
Using Power BI Desktop I have created a merge transformation (left outer join) across an on-premise SSAS data source and a cloud Sales Force data source, I have then created a conditional column based on logic across these merged columns. This works great. However, once i publish the dataset to the cloud service I receive "gateway cannot access the on-premise data source" even although the data source is correctly configured on the gateway and when I publish the dataset with just the on-premise data source it refreshes fine on the gateway, it's only when I introduce the cloud data source and have the merge transformation step across my sources when the gateway flags this error. I also have the "allow users cloud data sources to refresh" check box checked on my enterprise gateways cluster.
Can the enterprise gateway not deal with merges across multiple data source types?
Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous
You may refer to this post and article to check the settings of gateway. If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
Regards,
In my scenario your post doesn't explain why I can refresh SQL or SSAS sources on their own, it's only when I mix different types of sources, cloud and ssas with a merge step across both of these for example. I have read your article before and I can confirm that all has been configured correctly. If I need to raise a support ticket for this then fine, I was hoping the community could assist.
Thanks.
