Embedded Report with filter using Private Workspace

Hi,

We embed powerbi reports into our web platform. However, we wish to restrict the report by filter depending on the person who logged in, who will represent a customer class - i.e. Apple, Pear etc...  So if someone from Pear logs in, the report will filter for Organisation=Pear, if Apple then Organisation=Apple etc...

How do I set this up please for embedded report filters?

Thanks.

Hi @SachinC ,

Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI can be used to restrict data access for given users. And all RLS rules are applied to the embeded report.

5. After the user has signed in, the report opens, showing the data and allowing page navigation and filter setting. Only users who have view permission can see the report in Power BI. All row-level security (RLS) rules are also applied. Lastly, the user needs to be correctly licensed – either they need a Power BI Pro license, or the report must be in a workspace that is in a Power BI Premium capacity. The user needs to sign in each time they open a new browser window. However, once signed in, other reports load automatically.

It is needed to define roles and rules in Power BI Desktop and manage security on your model in Power BI Service. Then, RLS will work.

Best Regards,

Icey
