Embed a report in a public website

Hi all,

I have created a report in the desktop app that uses a single excel file for the dataset. I have the file on a local machine. It updates a few times a day through other automated processes. I have a data gateway installed on the same machine, and the report is uploaded to the power BI service in a new workspace with some auto-refresh times set up. I embedded the report on a site in our intranet, and I'm getting the "This content isn't available" error. I have another report embedded in the same site and it works fine. I'm using the public embed code for both, because most of our users do not have Power BI pro licenses. The only difference between the two reports is that the one that works is in my personal workspace, and the one that doesn't is in a new workspace.

Please help. I've been banging my head on the problem of getting a relatively frequently updated report published to the public for 36 hours so far.

Hi @michaellowry ,

Please check the publish-to-web#limitations.

This may due to reports using a shared dataset, which is stored in a different workspace from the report.

Best Regards,
Liang

Hi @michaellowry

Make sure

1. The users have view permission on the power bi report

2. The user need to be correctly licensed, either pro license or the report must be in the premium workspace i.e backed up by Power BI Premium Capacity EM or P SKU.
