Embed Report Sharing not working

Hello,

Here is the scenario.

1. We have Power BI Premium Capacity set up.

2. Developed Reports and published to a premium workspace.

3. Generated Embed URL and fixed in to Organization's intranet website.

4. From a premium workspace > Published as an app to entire Organization (10,000+ users)

5. They are not able to see the reports on Intranet website. When they browse they see "Sign In" button, on clicked they see "Request Access" button.

Even though I've published reports with all users from premium workspace, what don't they have access to the reports?

PN: They are able to open Published APP URL separately and view the reports but  not the embeded ones.

Any thoughts?

Thank you

Hi there

It would be because it is shared via an App.

What happens if you embed the report using the Secure Embed option?

Thank you Gilbert. what's the difference if I distribute reports from Premium Workspace with "An App" option or "Share" option?

What is the use of Premium Workspace then?

We cannot write 10,000+ email IDs while sharing.

I couldn't find anywhere the difference between Embed & Secure Embed options. The only thing I know is just a "sign in" part.

Thank you.

Hi there

I do agree that the App experience is better.

Can any users including yourself see the App when it is embedded with a site?

The reason I ask is I am wondering if there is some limitation within the App?

We haven't tried embeding App into the site yet. We just embeded reports into the site.

After reading your response, I checked Embed URLs for both options (Report, App) and they look different.

From my testing what I understood is -

If we want to embed an App, then we have to publish reports as an App for all users.

And if we want to embed reports, then we have to share reports to all users. (FYI - Fortunately (I never thought this would work..)I could type "All Employees" AD Group into the Reports Share feature where I used to type just email addresses. I'm not sure when this was released. yayy....!!!!!)

Thank you for your guidance!!

Yes you can use AD Groups to share information, I am glad that it worked.

And your answers were correct in that you would need to create the App and then use the reports within the App.
