Email subscriptions from dashboard with two datasets = email report wrong?

Hi All,

We have a dashboard which is a combination of two reports from two independent datasets.

We have an on premise gateway setup which refreshes the two datasets at 08:00 every day automatically.

When viewing the dashboard directly in the Power BI service, it looks perfect, yet 95% of the time the email subscription sent out is wrong - one of the datasets refreshes quicker (by just a few minutes) than the other and this seems to trigger the email subscription to be sent -  despite the fact the other dataset is still refreshing - this means often 1 part of the dashboard is correct while the other is always outdated.

Wondered if anyone else has encountered this?

@dnewton

You will receive an email snapshot of the dashboard each time any of the underlying datasets change. So if one of your dataset refreshes quicker than another one, the email subscription will be triggered which will not wait until another dataset refresh completes.

It is actually be design in current version refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-report-subscribe.

Best Regards,
Herbert
