Drillthrough on Grand Totals works on app.powerbi.com but not in pbix desktop file

Has anyone had the issue where the drillthrough to details feature works fine in the cloud on the app server, but when you download the pbix file it does not work for a particular visual? I had to fix some missing drillthrough columns, but when I tested it on my desktop the feature didn't work, but when I published to a workspace it worked. Is this a bug or something else?

Hi, @Anonymous

According to your description, it seems that your reports can’t use the “Cross-page/report drill through” function in the Power Bi desktop but it can work in the Power BI service. I guess that one of the potential reason for this is that you didn’t turn on the option in the Power Bi desktop:

You should go to check it first, if you still have a problem, you can also follow this document to check if you have set the “Drill through” correctly in the Power Bi desktop and post some sample picture of the issue you faced with if it’s possible:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-cross-report-drill-through

Thank you very much!

This issue is not there with the same scenario, however, if you continue to face the problem, please create a support ticket and you will have it sorted out: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/
