We have a report set up with direct query and a page auto-refresh interval of 5 minutes. The report is displayed on multiple TV screens and no users are interacting with the report, so the only queries sent to the data source is every 5 minutes as the page auto-refreshes.
My question is: If we have 5 TV screens showing the report, will this result in 5x the number of queries to the data source? Or will Power BI run the queries just once, independent of how many web browser have the report open? Will this behavior be different if it were a Power BI dashboard rather than a report?
We are trying to figure out how scaling this up will impact the load on the data source.

hey,
1) the behavior of the direct query its always the same, will send request for data back to the source for report, dahsboard etc,
2) if the 5 tv are showing the same web browser screen its sending just 1 request, if you have 5 browser and each refresing in each computer its sending 5 request, cause each browser its asking for the data to be refresh to the model , remember that direct query dont store the data on your data model, if possible I would recommend that all 5 tv show the same browser like this the source only get 1 data request instead of 5.
